The designation of one to whom the mysteries and secrets of occultism have been revealed; in antiquity, those who were initiated into the arcane knowledge taught by the Hierophants of the Mysteries, and in the modern day, those who have been initiated by Adepts of mystic lore into the mysterious knowledge, which, notwithstanding the lapse of ages, still has a few real votaries on Earth.
Each new stage of Initiation reveals ever new mysteries and imparts new abilities to one who has become entitled to acquire the secret knowledge of the Cosmos and human beings. Initiation ceremonies, or Mysteries, took place in ancient Sanctuaries, such as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Temples of Greece, India, and so on.
Secret Sanctuaries with halls for Initiations were built in places of powerful energy, mostly in the mountains. Mountains are the source of the strongest energy because their summits are covered with snow, which, like a natural lens, serves to receive the currents of other constellations and planets. Similarly, representatives of other worlds who study Earth have their base in the mountains too.
The procedure of Initiation is a mystical penetration into a higher level of perception and comprehension of the mystery of Existence, thanks to the acceptance of higher-order currents and the ability to use them effectively. It is the transition from life to a temporary death by means of a magic dream, which in turn enables a candidate to experience a disembodied Spirit and Soul in the subjective world.
Each Initiation requires moral purity, strength of spirit, and an aspiration for Truth. For example, Hermes Trismegistus (Gr., “thrice-greatest”) underwent three Initiations, although he is already the four-time-greatest, having successfully passed through yet another. His father, Arraim, is a four-time-greatest also. Thales of Argos passed through four Initiations. Christ passed through eight Initiations, and His Second Coming is associated with His ninth Initiation.
Pythagoras was an Initiate, one of the greatest of all scientists. His disciple, Archytas, was marvellously apt at applied science. Plato and Euclid were Initiates. The latter learnt his geometry in the Mysteries. Modern science only rediscovers old truths.
However, it is not only people and the Great Spirits who may go through Initiations, but also realms of Nature, planets, stars, solar systems, etc. Thus, in the present day, humanity as a whole and Earth are undergoing the next level of their Fiery Initiation.
